BANCO DI NAPOLI FOUNDATION

The Banco di Napoli Foundation has its own innovative, awareness-raising museum project (ilCartastorie) founded in 2016 and located within the Historical Archives of the Banco di Napoli Foundation in the heart of the city. Its objective is to promote and protect the cultural heritage found in the archival documents. This is achieved through traditional and multimedia storytelling in order to encourage visitors to appreciate the Archives and to create a sense of participation and ownership in the local communities. Visitors can tour the archives with a ‘storyteller’, who introduces the archives itself and leads them to the permanent multimedia exhibit, where stories come to life through a multimedia pop-up book, soundscapes, videos and interactive touchscreens. ilCartastorie project also hosts activities for the local community such as exhibitions and workshops involving local artists; creative writing, poetry and theatre workshops with expert writers.
