CREARCH seminar „Storytelling: Archival Practices and Perspectives“

ICARUS HR has prepared 2 workshops for professional staff related to public activities of archives and heritage institutions - exhibitions, educational activities, publishing, lectures, popularization, presentations organized in cooperation with local archives and museums. First one “Storytelling: Archival Practices and Perspectives” was held in the City museum in Ilok in May 2019.
This two-days seminar gathered 35 participants from archives, libraries, museums, cultural and scientific institutions and faculties with goal to collect and exchange materials and good practices for audience development  as well as to consider traditional activities, creative, innovation opportunities, and potentials of archival institutions and collections, analyses successful solutions, and develop and reflect on new programs and trends.

 

CREARCH seminar “Archives and Publishing - Resources, Heritage, Audiences”

Second workshop for archivist and heritage professionals „ Archives and Publishing - Resources, Heritage, Audience” was held in the State Archives in Gospić in October 2019.

This two-days seminar gathered 30 participants from archives, libraries, museums, cultural and scientific institutions and faculties with goal to collect and exchange materials and good practices for audience development, as well as to consider traditional activities, creative, innovation opportunities, and potentials of archival institutions and collections, analyses successful solutions, and develop and reflect on new programs and trends.

The thematic of the webinar revolved around the promotion and dissemination of cultural archives as spaces of creation, through the application of innovative practices such as interactive communication, transmedia storytelling, digital technology and the performing arts. The eleven tutors of the webinar came from a wide range of scientific fields, such as archival studies, librarianship, theatre studies, musicology, linguistics, anthropology, social studies, history and performing arts. The Webinar was evaluated as “excellent” and “extremely useful” by the participants.

Spacetime Layers

ICARUS HR organized presentation and workshop on SpaceTime Layers mobile app. Patrick Trentelman, author of Spacetime Layers presented  this joint platform of cultural organizations, nature management and educational institutions, with which information can be placed on an interactive map. During educational projects, pupils and students look for (stories behind) cultural heritage and subsequently disseminate the found knowledge. Media literacy, digital literacy, cultural education and crosscurricular didactics all come together in this innovative app that originated in a Dutch primary school class.
